Robert Sieving (b. 1942) is a Twin Cities-based composer and arranger following a career as Director of Choral Activities at Apollo High School in St. Cloud, Minnesota. In addition to his choral pieces he is also active as a composer and arranger of works for string orchestra. He is a past president of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) of Minnesota and a recipient of the ACDA of Minnesota Conductor of the Year Award and the ACDA-MN/VocalEssence Award for Creative Programming. A number of notable Minnesota choral ensembles premiering or performing works by Robert Sieving include The Singers - Minnesota Choral Artists, The National Lutheran Choir, Kantorei, St. Olaf College Manitou Singers, Minnesota Boy Choir, Minnesota All-State Women’s Choir, Saint John’s Boys’ Choir, Choral Arts Ensemble of Rochester and Concordia (MN) College’s Cantabile and Chapel Choirs. He has twice won the annual “Welcome, Christmas!” carol composition competition sponsored by VocalEssence and American Composer’s Forum.
